Brutha Shue’s Preakness Stakes breakdown

 2023 Preakness Stakes

Welcome to Brutha Shue’s 2023 Preakness breakdown. Shue returns to GambLou after having covered the Nags for me since college days which is almost before horse racing!

Anyway, Shue’s perspective is keen and over the year’s we’ve cashed many times.

I’ll offer my bets after his breakdown.

GL to everyone.

Lou, first of all, the #8, FIRST MISSION (5-2), was scratched early Friday – and a viable contender he was.  So now, an already short field just got shorter.

I’m going to fade #3 MAGE (8-5) a bit here and roll with Rosario and Asmussen and the #5, RED ROUTE ONE (10-1).  He’s a super deep closer who scorched the field in his most recent effort in the Bath House Row Stakes, reeling in eight horses in a mad dash to the wire, closing that last furlong in 11 seconds!

A slow pace here will not help him or Mage for that matter, but just hoping Joel will get Red rolling early to catch the leaders.

The #6, PERFORM (15-1) is another one who can close quickly.  Although he has not run-in great company, maybe ole’ Shug will have him ready to hit a 90+ Beyer for the first time and get him to…Perform!  He too, will be 10 lengths off the lead going into the far turn – so yes, he will also come from way, way back.

I think these two will make for an exciting finish to get to the wire first at Pimlico.  MAGE (8-5) perhaps to hold on to 2nd after being nipped at the wire…maybe?

Shue’s wagers

 $20.00: W-P-S #5 Red Route One (10-1) $60.00

$5.00: W-P-S #6 Perform (15-1)               $15.00

$5.00: EX Box 3-5-6                                       $30.00

                                                    #3 Mage; #5 Red Route One; #6 Perform (15-1)

                                 Total Wager $105.00

Puck Passion as an interruption of the Preakness Stakes!

I have future positions working on the Dallas Stars. There’s little to do other than trust they can compete with the depth and overall health/momentum of the Golden Knights which by the way puck heads isn’t going to be easy.

This is the most complete, defensive minded, evenly balanced Knight team since inception…. they should not be underestimated as a viable Cup Hoister!

As I handicap this series, this is the round Star netminder Jake Oettinger (we hold him 35/1 Conn Smythe) needs to separate himself from the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoff netminding participants by taking over this tournament.

Enough with the Vegas and Dallas coaches all being familiar with one another …. the difference between slapping backs and moving on lies between the pipes.

The Knights are a challenge bc they are healthy and if they can compete 5 on 5, they’re as good as any team remaining provided, they keep out of the box.

Our goal is to get Dallas into the Cup final against Florida and Matthew Tkachuk who by the way we hold at +750 for the Conn Smythe!

Let’s have us some profitable fun.

Tonight:

Vegas opens -135 and now they’re -120 and even lower at some spots…

Knights -120

Las Vegas +1.5 games -230; 3.45u to win 1.5u

Lou’s wagers

Right now, I’m going to take the #9 Fiaza, the Baffert chalk in the Black-Eyed Susan as the first leg in a Black-Eyed Susan to Preakness daily double.
Leg two: I’ll use the #1 National Treasure 4/1 (Baffert has something to prove?) who will now probably be bet hard and the #5 Shue’s Red Route One (10/1)

I’ll bet $20.00 on each DD wager for a total of $40.00 which is in play today.

I’ll pipe in again tomorrow with Preakness positions!

Wales Conference Final

Wales Conference Final: Carolina vs. Florida

Great hockey is about to come our way and after as much time off as they took, look for ‘hockey’ to be played for a game or two before we see any real ‘passion’ or ‘hatred’ begin to emerge.

The time off (6 days for the Panther and a week for the Canes) helps both teams in the long run but hurts aspirations of a balanced, timing laden offensive attack by either team early in the series as I see it.

In a macro sense, I look for netminders to finally begin to emerge in this round and with them the Under in more of these games. I’ve been judicious in my Under releases (2-0) but I do believe we’ll see more stellar netminding, defense and ‘from the goal out’ execution begin to make marked pronouncements in this round.

So, again perhaps we see some choppy, off balance, low scoring contests in the first few nights of this round until these razor blades get their legs underneath them?

Here’s my schedule for the remainder of the week:

Thursday after a cooling off period, the Stanley Cup Playoffs return and with it, the passion, grit, determination and single-minded focus of these participants must be acknowledged at least by me.

So, the Wales Trophy game 1 Florida at Carolina 5pm PT is Thursday’s topic.

Friday, it’s the return of Brutha Shue’s Preakness Stakes breakdown. The Preakness will take precedence on my frontpage until about 3:30pm PT Saturday when they race those Nags in Baltimore.

Game 2 of the Cane’s and Panthers drops at 5pm PT Saturday so I’ll have time to post puck passion after Preakness profits are posted.

Saturday, I’m back into playoff puck with a fever as well we have UFC LV73 as the fights go down from Las Vegas starting at 1pm PT.

Sunday, we’ll review the week, address the passion and begin to discuss the upcoming NCAA Baseball Tournament.

Welcome to the GambLou webpage!

Welcome Profitable Sports Gaming enthusiasts to the new GambLou webpage.

This page is designed to provide onlookers with sports gaming insight, perspective, opinion and to go with that betting guidance and encouragement.

I’ll post daily information on this front page from my perspective and how the subject may pertain to or contribute to advantage in any potential wager.

Currently, we’re in second quarter of the UFC which is a yearlong season of some 44 to 47 events.

Mid May means we’re about half way through the Stanley Cup Tournament which moving forward will be the daily subject on my front page until the Cup is hoisted. I will no longer be using Instagram opting instead to use WWW.GambLou.com as my sole point of contact other than any media appearances I am fortunate enough to conduct.

The month-long NCAA baseball regional/super-regional/College World Series event begins in early June. Anyone interested in that event please check out the CWS page for more information on membership.

Approaching in August is the monster of them all the NFL. I’ve taken private clients on in the NFL for years and am proud of the profitability I deliver as well the ‘client first’ approach I take to the service. Anyone interested can hit the ‘NFL Consulting’ tab at the top of this webpage for more info.

Last but quite important: The GambLou ‘’Bout Business Podcast drops each week there is a UFC event. Fight Enthusiasts interested in tuning in may simply access the link at the bottom of this page or go to the UFC page.

This webpage has been months in the designing and I’m proud to present it to anyone interested in an independent, business-based approach to Profitable Sports Gaming!

Stars vs. Kraken Game 7

This year in the first two rounds of passion playoffs:

Underdogs: 38-32     Road dung: 40-31     Over 36-33-1

Jake Oettinger and the Dallas Stars have much to prove tonight. In this game the Stars opened -190 and are now -200 to -210. At +180 this is the highest the Krak have been in the three games in Dallas. While most are disrespecting and disregarding the Krak…I cannot.

Seattle has played stellar, passionate, disciplined playoff hockey and in tonight’s game they must be regarded as ‘live’ based on their body of work this playoff season.

With a victory the Krak have a chance to compete with the other recent and sensational expansion franchise from the Pacific division, the Las Vegas Golden Knights!

Storyline, odds, line movement, balanced scoring, stoic defense, solid goaltending and team depth all favor Seattle if we’re being logical so I must cover the Star future positions as follows:

Kraken +175 1u

Kraken +670 Campbell .6u

Under 6 -120 1u

I’m using Circa, Westgate, BOL, FanDuel, and others to determine best price advantage.

Money Morning: Profitability review

Welcome to the new GambLou.com webpage!

Here you’ll catch investment insight, sports betting news and other independent thought all which revolve around the world of Profitable Sports Gaming.

For the next month or so I’ll be using this front page to track all Stanley Cup Tourney results as well GambLou UFC profitability.

Since this webpage was unable to be fine-tuned and functioning prior to the Stanley Cup tourney (we’re still tweaking some things) you’ll find all puck passion releases here under the same guidelines as always…. I post late to obtain the most advantageous pricing.

I’ll have a Puck Passion post later this afternoon.

2023 Puck Profitability: 35-32 +15.67u 29% ROI

2023 UFC  Profitability: 38-35 +11.48u 15% ROI

Remember….it’s ‘Bout Business!

Profitable Sports Gaming

Puck Passion Mothers Day

I’ll appear on VSiN Live Bet Sunday at 4:30pm PT!

Yesterday I graded three wagers, The Krak straight wager for a net + .72u, the Carolina/Dallas series prop parlay win which returned +.70u then the SU Kraken +1.5 games -120 wager for 1u.

The sole remaining wagers working in this round are the Edmonton Oilers tonight who complete the RR wager.  Will those tip-toeing Edmonton Oilers be able to tighten their skates enough to take this series back to Las Vegas to be settled?

Great question.

Profitability: 31-23 +14.33u 30% ROI

Tonight, with an Edmonton win we realize a 3-0 +2.63 evening by completing the RR wager made days ago (Edmonton/Dallas + .66u then the Edmonton/Carolina leg which pays .67; then finally the 3-team portion which pays 1.3u).

However, should the Knights do the inevitable tonight instead of Monday, then we realize 0-3 -1.5u for the evening and I’m not comfortable potentially dropping 1.5u especially when that means moving against my model’s numbers.

Las Vegas +167 or better

In game 3 the Knights closed +155 in Edmonton and won 5-1, then in game 4 they closed +160 and lost 4-1. Now, leading the series in a must win game for the Oil, the Knights are getting +170 and with patience you may get a little more.

—————————-

Should Edmonton win tonight we net 1.63u and walk into tomorrow’s passion.

Should the Knights win, we net .20 and move into tomorrow with more profit than we had today. Remember puck heads, minimizing loss is as important as maximizing one’s opportunity to win as well we take hard US dollars to the bank…nothing else.

Saturday UFC and NHL Stanley Cup Tournament

Kraken +148 .5u

OK puck heads last night I graded the Oil/Leaf Cup fantasy future (L) along with the Toronto series prop bust and the Panther series prop win. The Knights ‘from the goal out’ puck philosophy/performance corralled the Oil to add .72u to our coffers so with the round robin series prop bet’s outstanding and our futures aside we enter today’s puck passion profitably:

34-29 +13.03u 26% ROI

I want that damn Round Robin but that gets settled tomorrow.

Just a few games remain to complete this second round. On deck: The Campbell Cup and the Prince of Wales Trophy!

Today what’s important is getting the Kraken to win on home ice thus sending that series into a 7th contest which insures we not only hit the RR but our Seattle +1.5 -120 game prop placed at the beginning of the round.

They’re dropping frozen rubber at 4pm today. I have the UFC bouts this am at 9am so I’ll work the UFC then post any puck passion positions later today right here.

For my ‘Bout Business Podcast please access the ‘UFC’ tab at the top of this webpage to be taken to the direct link.

Thank you
